Tracy Valente started learning about construction law even before she passed the bar exam. Tasked with drafting a construction complaint on the very first day of her very first summer legal clerkship, Tracy did such a good job with the complaint that the highly complex case went to court – and the law firm in question hired her right out of law school. It was an appropriate start for Tracy’s 20-plus years as a litigator, and she’s been helping construction law clients ever since.
AV Preeminent-rated by Martindale Hubbell and a member of the Construction Law Section of The Florida Bar, Tracy is a respected advocate with an impressive record of success in the courtroom and at the negotiating table. She has represented clients in matters including construction defects, professional liability, lien claims, bond claims, insurance defense, and contractor licensing. To Tracy, every case is an opportunity to learn more about the industry and assist clients who need her expertise.
Prior to joining Bachara Construction Law Group team in 2018, Tracy was a partner and shareholder of Heekin Litigation Group in Jacksonville. In that role, she represented homeowners, developers, general contractors and design professionals. She also represented a variety of subcontractors including the following trades: HVAC, plumbing, swimming pool, framing, windows, roof, drywall, painters and concrete among others.
Tracy is admitted to practice throughout the State of Florida, in the United States Federal Court for the Middle District of Florida and the United States Court of Appeals for the 11th Circuit. An honors graduate of both Florida State University and the University of Florida’s Levin College of Law, she is proud to have received a variety of peer-reviewed honors including listings in the Bar Register of Preeminent Women Lawyers, the Worldwide Registry of Executives & Professionals, and Florida Trend Magazine’s “Florida Legal Elite.” A member of the Jacksonville Bar Association, Tracy is also a member of The Florida Bar’s Construction Law Section, the Northeast Florida Builders Association (NEFBA), and a member of Professional Women in Building Council, on which she has served as a director since 2017.
When she’s not working, Tracy enjoys travel and listening to live music with her husband. She also spends a lot of time sitting on uncomfortable bleachers watching her 12 and 14-year-old sons play baseball.
